Richard Sajiun’s Vision: Building Safer and Smarter New York Systems
When people ask me what drives me every day, my answer is simple: I want to help build a safer and smarter New York. For me, this is more than just a career goal. It’s a mission that connects my skills, my values, and my commitment to my city.
My name is Richard Sajiun, and I have the privilege of serving as the CEO of Sajiun Electric Inc. here in New York. Through this role, I work with talented teams, public institutions, and dedicated partners to design and deliver systems that keep our communities connected, protected, and resilient. Whether it’s power distribution, telecommunications, surveillance, or fire safety, my goal is to make sure our city’s systems work the way they should—reliably and with the future in mind.
This blog is a reflection of my vision. I want to share what drives me, why building smarter and safer systems matters, and how I see the future of infrastructure in New York.
Why Safety and Smarter Systems Matter
New York is one of the most dynamic cities in the world. Millions of people live, work, and travel here every day. The systems that support our city—electric power, communication lines, security networks, and emergency systems—are the backbone of daily life. If one of these fails, the impact can be immediate and widespread.
For me, safety is always the starting point. A reliable fire alarm system, a well-planned power grid, or a strong surveillance network can save lives. But safety alone is not enough. We also need smart systems—systems that use technology to respond quickly, adjust to new challenges, and improve efficiency.
When safety and smart technology come together, we get the kind of infrastructure that can carry New York into the future. This balance is what guides my work.
My Journey into the World of Systems
I did not wake up one day and decide to be a CEO. My journey has been built step by step, with both hands-on training and formal education shaping me along the way.
From the early days of my career, I learned the value of detail. In electrical work, small mistakes can cause big problems. I saw firsthand how planning, testing, and focusing on the fine details can make the difference between success and failure.
Later, I combined this technical experience with business knowledge. I realized that leading a company requires not only knowing how things work but also seeing the bigger picture. That meant managing risks, guiding teams, and making strategic choices that would keep our company strong in the long run.
Today, as the head of Sajiun Electric Inc., I still carry those early lessons with me. I believe in learning by doing, but I also believe in planning with foresight. That mix helps me guide my team and align our projects with the strengths we bring to the table.
Building Smarter Power Systems
Power is the heartbeat of any city. Without it, nothing else works. One of my key focuses has been on designing and maintaining power distribution systems that can handle the demands of modern New York.
In today’s world, power systems must do more than just deliver electricity. They must also be smart enough to detect faults, adjust to peak demands, and integrate renewable sources. For me, the future of power is about resilience and adaptability.
At Sajiun Electric, we don’t just install systems—we think about how they will perform five, ten, or even twenty years from now. I often ask my team: “Will this design still serve the community when the needs of the city change?” If the answer is no, then we go back to the drawing board.
Communication That Connects Everyone
Telecommunications is another area where I see both opportunity and responsibility. New York is a city of connections, and our communication networks need to match that energy.
From government offices to public schools to emergency responders, reliable communication is not optional—it’s critical. My goal has always been to build systems that allow information to flow smoothly, quickly, and securely.
One of the lessons I’ve learned is that communication is not only about speed. It’s also about trust. People need to know that the systems they rely on will not fail when they need them most. That’s why my team and I spend so much time on testing, quality control, and risk management.
Surveillance and Public Safety
New York is a vibrant, busy city, but it also faces challenges when it comes to safety. Surveillance systems, when designed responsibly, play an important role in protecting both people and property.
For me, surveillance is not about control—it’s about prevention. A well-placed camera or a strong monitoring system can stop small issues from becoming big ones. Whether it’s protecting a school, a hospital, or a transit hub, these systems help create safer environments where people can feel secure.
Of course, with surveillance comes responsibility. Privacy and ethics must always be respected. At Sajiun Electric, we design systems that meet safety goals while also respecting the rights of individuals.
Fire Safety: Protecting What Matters Most
Few things are as urgent as fire safety. A fire can spread in seconds, and without the right systems in place, lives and property can be lost. This is why fire safety has always been a central part of my vision.
In my work, I’ve seen how a well-designed fire alarm and suppression system can make all the difference. It’s not only about meeting codes or regulations—it’s about being ready for the unexpected.
For me, fire safety is not a box to check. It’s a promise to protect people where they live, work, and gather.
Leadership with Integrity
When people describe my leadership style, they often use words like integrity, focus, and results-driven. These are qualities I strive for every day.
I believe leadership is not about being the loudest voice in the room. It’s about listening, guiding, and setting an example. It’s about making decisions that are not only smart but also fair.
At Sajiun Electric, I’ve worked hard to build a culture where everyone feels respected and valued. Our projects succeed not just because of me, but because of the dedication of the entire team. My role is to keep us aligned, motivated, and focused on the bigger mission.
The Personal Side of Richard
Outside of my professional life, I have passions that keep me balanced and energized. Fitness is a big part of my routine. It gives me the strength and clarity to handle the challenges of leading a company. Music is another love of mine. It helps me reset, reflect, and reconnect with my creative side.
I’ve learned that taking care of myself personally makes me a better leader professionally. It keeps me grounded and reminds me that life is about more than just work.
Looking Ahead: My Vision for New York
When I think about the future, my vision is clear: I want to help build systems that make New York safer, smarter, and stronger.
That means:
Power systems that are reliable and sustainable.
Communication networks that connect everyone, everywhere.
Surveillance that enhances safety while respecting privacy.
Fire safety systems that protect lives and communities.
But beyond the systems themselves, my vision is about people. It’s about building trust, creating opportunities, and making sure our city’s infrastructure supports the dreams of those who live here.
Closing Thoughts
Being a part of New York’s growth is both a challenge and a gift. Every day, I remind myself that the work we do at Sajiun Electric is not just about wires, circuits, or machines. It’s about people. It’s about families, workers, students, and communities who rely on us.
My name is Richard Sajiun NewYork, and my commitment is simple: to keep pushing forward, to keep innovating, and to keep building systems that serve this city with integrity and care.
The journey is far from over, but I believe the best is yet to come. Together, we can make New York not only safer but also smarter—one system at a time.
